		<description>Barry Jaspan, myself, and a couple others have been discussing a generic static cache api. One that doesn&#039;t bite asses. The approach is somewhat different than what you&#039;re proposing but it is applicable against any static caching that gets done.

Patches on single user websites die a silent death. You could join the conversation on drupal.org by submitting your patch there, against the core taxonomy module.
